| How We Work.
For Consulting engagements, we estimate the cost of the project and a fee based on our assessment of the time required to complete. This results in an engagement letter that defines the timelines, deliverables and anticipated costs.
For Search mandates our fees are based on a percentage of compensation or a fixed fee mutually agreed upon at the start of the assignment. In our experience about four weeks is normally required to complete the sourcing and interviewing process for mid-management levels and up to six to eight weeks for senior managers. This results in a letter of engagement which defines the timelines, deliverables and anticipated costs.
Fees are invoiced in three equal instalments, the first upon our appointment to the assignment, the second, at an agreed midpoint in the engagement, or 30 days into the project, the third upon the completion. Not included in the fees are mutually agreed out-of-pocket expenses (courier, long distance, photocopies, travel, advertising, etc.). These expenses will be passed on to the client at cost.
Estimates assume the specifications or scope will not change substantially during the assignment and that the project is not cancelled or deferred. Should an assignment be cancelled for any reason, the amount due would be equal to one half of the amount that would otherwise be payable at the next payment due date. |
